Two More Thumb Rules for Watering in Lawns and Gardens

July 22nd, 2008 · No Comments · Gardening Techniques, Watering, care and watering

WateringThumb Rule-5:  “Choose the Best Hours”You must know the best hours in a day while watering your lawn or garden. Early morning hours or late night hours are the most useful hours for this purpose. Rate of evaporation of water is very low during these hours and you can save water this way.

Thumb Rule -6: “Avoid Windy Times”

Direction of flow of water is a major determinant in watering specially in lawns. You need to ensure that water is flowing in its desired direction only. Windy times really disturb these directional watering and therefore as far as possible you should water only when it is not windy. There is no sense in wasting water and your time and energy. You must have full control over where the water goes.
