Mint, you may call it Mentha or Peppermint as well, is one of the common ingredient of various food recipes like sauces, drinks, and teas. Growing mint in your garden would be an interesting experience. You may also like to have a mint plant in a container so that you can have an easy access to it whenever you need.
Growing mint as indoor plant is of course an attractive proposition. You just need to have a proper cutting of the mint plant. Your selection should preferably be based on your own likings. There are two most commonly available varieties of mint. Mentha x Piperita Peppermint and Mentha Sauveolens’variegata’ Variegated Applemint are two such useful varieties and you may choose any one or both for your garden or home.
Two major factors determine your choice of the suitable variety. One is shade and the other is moisture. Mint is an ideal plant for shady areas and constant moisture. You should select the most suitable variety based on degree of availability of shade and moisture in your garden or home. Growth of a typical mint plant is comparatively faster and therefore you can use them more frequently.
You may like to place the container grown mint plant at your kitchen bench or as a blend in with your door. You may introduce your imaginations while designing the containers with different colours, shades, and linings to give them up a modern look. I would also advise you to put some stone pieces in the container as top layer in order to hold the stem in place.
